"Encouraging family, friendships and fun through education and competitive angling, while conserving our walleye resource"

Tournament Season is Now!

Mixed team, Eric and Judi Coe, weighed a limit and win the first tournament of the season.

Zebra Mussels in Colorado!

Zebra Mussels have recently been discovered in Pueblo Reservoir.  This is a predatory shellfish that can rapidly multiply and ultimately sterilize a body of water.  One greatly publicized case of this species is present in Lake Erie, where the lake miraculously went from a polluted waste pit to crystal clear waters in a short period of time. The greatest fear is that the muscles will exhaust the waters of plankton, which is the foundation of the food chain. Pristine waters are good for the bathtub but not for an aquatic ecosystem.

Zebra Mussels and a Southern Colorado Fishing Update

A MUST READ.  In February, the South chapter hosted Jim Melby and Gary Dowler, CDOW Fisheries Biologist from the south and east part of Colorado.  The most important issue discussed was the Zebra Mussel Infestation in Pueblo Reservoir.  In addition, they offered insight into several other popular bodies of water.

Banquet Planning Meeting

If you have ideas or would like to contribute to the success of this year's banquet, we have scheduled the first banquet planning meeting Feb. 7 at 7:00p at the Denver location of the Colorado Division Of Wildlife.  Use the south entrance to the building.  The address is 6060 Broadway just off of I-25 at 58th Ave.  At that time we will go over the details and organize committees.  If you have futher questions, contact Larry Bolin.
