4th Annual 2007 Colorado Walleye Association
“All Eyes on Walleye" Expo Recap
What an Expo! We more than doubled the number of people coming thru the doors from last year. The difference from last year? I overheard some say it was the weather, last year it snowed the day of the Expo. Some said it was the long cold winter that has ignited open water interests. Being the ever optimist, I believe it was a combination of the above plus the magnetism and draw of our guest speakers as well as the vendor tables/boats.
Ron Gazvoda, Denver native, CWA member/supporter and most importantly, a Princecraft boat owner kicked off the list of speakers. Ron was followed by Paul Winkle (CDOW) who provided statistics of past fish surveys and a fishing forecast for local waters. Anchoring the list of speakers was the beloved Terry Wickstrom, longtime support of the CWA, voice of AM950 the Fan Outdoors and host of Mountain States Fishing and Angling Adventures. Before between and after each speaker, drawings for door prizes were held. Adult as well as child door prize categories allowed most to recoup something for the $5 entry fee. Definitely a crowd pleaser were the hot dogs, chips, sodas and cookies provided by the Arvada Boy Scout Troop #346.
